Tricuspid Atresia

• associated w/ TGA in 30%

Blood flow

• No connection between right atrium and right ventricle
• Hypoplastic right ventricle and pulmonary arteries
• SVC/IVC > RA > ASD > LA > LV  (complete mixing of pulmonary and systemic venous returns occurs in the LV)
• LV > VSD > RV/PA
• LV > tract to pulmonary artery > lungs > LA
• LV > aorta
• decreased pulmonary blood flow results in increased cyanosis

Presentation: infant with cyanosis and tachypnea

PE: systolic murmur (VSD), single S2

CXR: normal sized heart, LVH, absent PA, decreased pulmonary vascular markings

EKG: LAD; LVH, Left anterior hemiblock, as in AV canal
