Sebaceous Nevus
- yellow/yellow-orange papule or plaque
- scalp/face/anywhere
- consists of immature hair follicles and sebaceous glands
- no hair, when on scalp (because of rudimentary hair follicles)
- may sit still until puberty, then may get larger and raised
- Surgical removal is recommended because it may transform into a basal cell
epithelioma
Pigmented Nevus
- macule, dark brown/black
- lower back, buttocks, anywhere
- mostly benign
- 10% can become malignant. Monitor closely ABCD, may require excision
