Limb-Girdle Dystrophy

• a muscular dystrophy
• AR inheritance; both sexes affected equally
• proximal muscle weakness, no facial involvement
• onset late childhood to teens
• vs fascioscapulohumeral syndrome: think 'face and scapula' therefore facial weakness and arm weakness; vs limb-girdle dystrophy which is proximal muscle weaknss, but NO facial involvement
