White's Classification of Diabetes
- Class A is insulin dependent

A - chemical diabetes with +glucose tolerance test before or during pregnancy
B - Onset after age 20 and less than 10 years duration
C - Earlier onset "teen"; between age 10-19
D1 - childhood onset before age 10
D2 - greater than 20 years duration
D3 - leg vessel calcification
D4 - benign retinopathy
D5 - HTN
E - calcification of pelvic vessels (not used)
F - neFropathy
G - pregnancy failures
H - vascular lesions developing in childbearing years; includes patients w/ cardiopathy
R - malignant Retinopathy
