Benign Myoclonus of Infancy

  1. Clusters of myoclonic activity confined to the neck, trunk and extremities, beginning in infancy
  2. May be confused with infantile spasms BUT
  3. Infants have normal development and normal EEG
  4. Most resolve by age 2
  5. Anticonvulsant therapy is not indicated
